Stone carpet consists of natural stone or marble pebbles in calibrated sizes, bound with clear resin into a single open-pored surface. We work with the ARDEX stoneCARPET system. It is laid by hand on floors, walls, terraces or around pools.
There is a permeable version with an open structure for exteriors, terraces and courtyards, where water drains away by itself. Indoors, a closed, polished version is laid.
The surface has no joints, is hygienic and non-slip, does not fade in the sun and withstands wear, chemicals and stains. You can feel it under bare feet, which is the whole point around a pool.

Stone carpet is used in these spaces, with the right protective topcoat and a properly prepared substrate.
Roof and ground-floor terraces. Non-slip, lets water through and does not fade in the sun.
Pool decks, shower areas and outdoor walkways. The open structure drains the water away.
Spa areas and sauna anterooms. A surface you can feel underfoot that lets water through.
Healthcare facilities, hotels and restaurants, where a hygienic, hard-wearing surface is needed.
Interior walls with character. Stone you can feel under your hand.
Marble and natural stone pebbles in calibrated sizes: 2 to 4, 4 to 8 and 8 to 12 mm. Clear resin binds the colour, mineral and shape into one open-pored surface.
The colour of the pebbles on screen is approximate. We make a sample with a test bond on site, on your own surface.
It all starts at your place, with an assessment of the space and the substrate. How long it takes depends on the floor area and on the condition of the substrate.
Colour, mineral and grain size, with a sample made on site and a test bond.
Waterproofing (for exteriors), priming and checking the fall for drainage.
Mixing the dry pebbles with clear resin in a precisely measured ratio.
Spreading by hand and levelling with a trowel until the resin takes hold of the structure.
Stone carpet: answers to the questions we hear most often from clients and the designers behind their projects.
Stone carpet is a surface of natural stone or marble pebbles bound with clear resin into a single jointless layer. It is laid by hand on floors and walls, indoors and outdoors. We work with the ARDEX stoneCARPET system, with pebbles in calibrated sizes from 2 to 12 mm. You can feel the material under bare feet, which is why it is most often chosen for terraces and pool surrounds.
On terraces, around pools, in shower areas and spas, in hotels and restaurants, and indoors on feature walls. Outdoors, the permeable open version is used, which drains water away by itself. Indoors, a closed, polished version is laid.
It has no grout lines, so there are no lines for dirt to collect in. It is not slippery when wet, does not fade in the sun and withstands frost, wear, chemicals and stains. It is laid continuously, so it follows the shape of a terrace or staircase without cutting or visible joins.

Yes, that is its most common use outdoors. The open structure lets water pass through the layer, so no puddles form and no drain is needed. The surface is non-slip, UV-stable and frost-resistant. Before laying, waterproofing is applied and a fall is formed to drain the water.
By dry vacuuming and occasional washing with warm water. With the open version outdoors, water passes through the layer, so the terrace can simply be hosed down. The surface withstands chemicals and stains, so harsh cleaning products are not needed.
